FF (128)

Follow Friday is an opportunity to discover and follow other book related blogs! Want to join? Check it out at Parajunkee.

This week's question feature is
Got Fiction

Q: What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, eBooks, paperback etc?

My Answer: I will always prefer paperbacks, they are my favourite. But hardbacks are fine too. I just like to have the physical book. I know e-books have their place and they are great for publishers/authors to send out for reviews etc, but I find they take me twice as long to read as the actual book. Plus I'll confess, I'm a book sniffer, I love the smell of books, and the feel. Just everything!

Happy Hopping & Blogging. :D

I find that I don't mind ebooks as much from publishers/authors, since I don't feel bad if I don't like them.

But at least my local library has benefited from some of my least favorites reads this year.

I'm a new Bloglovin fan.

eBooks are cheaper and easier to carry around, but I prefer physical copies, definitely. New Bloglovin' follower c:

I read ebooks now since my nine bookshelves are overflowing. I also like reading self published writers and many don't have a print copy available.

I love the smell of books too! It's not the same to smell a screen, lol.

I DO love eBooks, but I know what you mean about the smell. I have seen ads for a spray that smells like "books." So, maybe that would help? ;)

Bec your not alone with being a book sniffer LOL however, you may find that once you do get used to reading ebooks you also start reading just as fast. Not so long ago I also felt that I was reading the printed copies a lot faster than the ones on my Nook but I think that's only because I had preferred that format initially.

Now I don't think that I read faster on either format more so than the other, if anything I may even read on my Nook faster.

Thanks everyone, book sniffers unite! :D

Lizzy -- I know what you mean, it is easier if you don't like them and is cheaper for them to send which is why i can see their use but I will always prefer proper books.

Glad you agree Nina! :D

Kimberley - overflowing bookshelves - story of my life! But still doesn't stop me. I have found some good self published authors though, you're right there!

Julianna - tell me about it! Best smell ever. :)

Annette - I don't think it would be the same, it's such a unique smell and every book varies a bit, i don't think a spray could replicate that.

Thanks Twin Reads

Angelica - I've been reading ebooks for a year and I'm still a lot slower, it could be that I'm reading on an ipad not a specific book reader. So it is not quite the same quality, has glare on the screen etc. I'm looking into investing into a Kindle though. maybe, just for review books - i would still purchase the books I want for me as hard copies.
