Review

I absolutely love Holly Jackson's books (well all but one), and I devour everything she publishes. I finished htis book in one afternoon, as usual I was hooked in and totally captivated that putting it down was not an option. 426 pages flew by and left me still wanting more.

Jet is a 27 year old who still lives at home with her parents and struggles to really see anything through, she's a disappointment to most people around her and she doesn't really have a plan for the future. Then on Halloween night as she arrives home to an empty house, she is brutally attacked and left for dead. But the murder doesn't go to plan and Jet wakes up in hospital. But it will still end in 'murder' for the injuries are causing a brain aneurysm that is going to erupt and kill her within a week. Jet decides to use her last week solving the case of her own murder.
As you read, you start to follow the clues and will be pointing the finger at so many different characters and trying to outsmart them and come to an answer. Jackson cleverly weaves details and ideas in to make you think something then slams it back into your face.
I'm not going to tell you who did it as I don't want to ruin the book for you, the person was on my list of suspects but not strongly until right near the end.

Jackson is cruel in a way as she makes you really connect with this character who you know is going to die, and although you know its going to happen, it still crushes you when it does.
Throughout the story, she teams up with her childhood best friend Billy who is an absolute gem, and we know he loves her from teh start, but it is still so cute to see them together. God knows we all need a Billy in our lives.
Jet is sassy and sarcastic and relentless and at times rude but she is a great protagonist.
All of the characters have real depth and realism to them. I swear that I could get lost in these worlds forever.

Jackson is definitely one of those authors that I will be waiting for more releases and reading whatever she gives us. 100% in my Top Rated Authors.
