Synopsis
Savannah Colbert has never known why she's so hated by the kids of the Clann. Nor can she deny her instinct to get close to Clann golden boy Tristan Coleman. Especially when she recovers from a strange illness and the attraction becomes nearly irresistible. It's as if he's a magnet, pulling her gaze, her thoughts, even her dreams. Her family has warned her to have nothing to do with him, or any members of the Clann. But when Tristan is suddenly everywhere she goes, Savannah fears she's destined to fail.
For years, Tristan has been forbidden to even speak to Savannah Colbert. Then Savannah disappears from school for a week and comes back…different, and suddenly he can't stay away. Boys seem intoxicated just from looking at her. His own family becomes stricter than ever. And Tristan has to fight his own urge to protect her, to be near her no matter the consequences….

My Review
I recieved a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Tristan and Savannah were once best friends but they were torn apart by their families and forbidden to see each other, they have grown up and grown apart. But a strange bond seems to link them together and now they are coming back together, until some dark secrets come out that could threaten their whole lives.
Can we just say - gorgeous cover, I saw this online and fell in love with the cover and was excited to read it. Love it.
The book starts with an action scene that gets you hooked in and wondering what is happening, then jumps back to the 'proper' start.
The book is told from two points of view - firstly Savannah, she seems like your average student, quite good academically but not particularly good at sports, a small group of friends to talk to, but also for some reason a group of students (known as the Clann - family name!) seem to hate her. Savannah tries to keep her head down and get on with her life, but then weird things start to happen to her and she discovers that some secrets and rumours can be real. It has her questioning everything and you really see her change and develop as a character. She refuses to give up.
Then you have Tristan, the guy everyone likes, the one all the girls want to date and he does come across as a typical sort of high school jock, handsome, full of himself and opinionated, but he has a more noble side too, he is determined to look after Savannah and help her, sort of like a Prince Charming, he is even willing to turn his back on his friends and his clan to protect her. I actually quite liked him when you get further into the story. You find there is more to him and he does seem to care.
The Clann is actually made up of witches - both male and female (of which Tristan is one, but average humans can't find out this is true). There is also a group of Vampires involved, both the witches and vampires want Savannah on their side and battles ensue. I found this story really exciting, it came across like a Paranormal Romeo & Juliet, but more exciting! Hidden powers, forbidden love, magic, mystery. Full of magic and mystery.
I read this quite quickly and really enjoyed it, I can't wait for book 2 to come out (Covet - Sept 2012!)
A great read, I would recommend it.
