Blog Tour & Book Review - First Frost

SYNOPSIS

Fairytales aren’t real…yeah…that’s exactly what Bianca thought. She was wrong.

For generations, the Frost family has run the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts, handing down guardianship from mother to daughter, always keeping their secrets to “family only.”

Gathered within museum’s walls is a collection dedicated to the Grimm fairy tales and to the rare items the family has acquired: Cinderella’s glass slipper, Snow White’s poisoned apple, the evil queen’s magic mirror, Sleeping Beauty’s enchanted spinning wheel…

Seventeen-year-old Bianca Frost wants none of it, dreaming instead of a career in art or photography or…well, anything except working in the family’s museum. She knows the items in the glass display cases are fakes because, of course, magic doesn’t really exist.

She’s about to find out how wrong she is.

My Review
I love anything to do with Fairytales and I'm so happy that they are making a mass come back at the moment. Anyone else obsessed with the TV show 'Once Upon A Time' and their lives in Storybrook. I know I am, can't get enough of it. So when I was asked to read this book and be part of the blog tour I couldn't say no.
I have been falling behind on my books to review so I ended up reading this one later than planned, but luckily it was the sort of book you can get lost in and carried away with that it didn't take me long to read at all.
Bianca works at the Fairytale museum with her mum, her dad went missing ten years ago and has never been found. Bianca dreams of getting away but her mum is very particular about Family only running the museum, and she is about to find out why.
Ending up in the magical world of Everafter, Bianca learns some truths about her and her family.
In short, I loved this book, it is so magical and captivating, and wonderfully written that I couldn't get enough. This is definitely the sort of book I would re-read and recommend to others. It really captured the wonder of fairy tales and brought it to life in a modern day whilst maintaining the original charm.
Bianca is just what you want from a heroin - down to earth, ready to fight for what she wants but isn't afraid to ask for help or show her fear. Real Bravery is being afraid but carrying on anyway, not letting that fear hold you back and Bianca has that!
Along the way she meets a hapless Prince called Ferdinand and his friend/assistant Terrence, Bianca's best friend Ming also joins her on the hourney and the rag tag group offers delightful reading and a great mix of personalities.
I think you're starting to get just how much I loved this book!!!
This is also one of those books that can be enjoyed by any age, children, teens and adults. It has something for everyone.
I hope there will be more coming soon!
