A-Z Reading Quiz

I've seen this quiz on loads of blogs, made by Jamie from The Perpetual page turner. So I figured I would answer it too.

Author you’ve read the most books from:

I don't know specifically but I think it would be either Meg Cabot, Cecelia Ahern or Sarah Dessen. I have read everything written by the last 2, but I don't know if they total more than all the Cabot books i've read.

Best Sequel Ever:

Erm, I'm trying to think which ones took my breath away, I think I would have to say Insurgent by Veronica Roth - I can't get enough of this series

Currently Reading:

I've got 2 books on the go at once right now - 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' by Mark Haddon as I am going to see it in the theatre tomorrow. And 'The Moon and More' by Sarah Dessen, because it's new and I love her books.

Drink of Choice While Reading:

I only really drink juice, usually either Apple and Blackcurrent or Peach

E-reader or Physical Book?

I would pick physical books everytime, you can't beat the feel and smell of a book in your hands. And the design, the ability to easily flick back to a page, just the whole experience. But I do think e-books have their place and can be useful

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:

I always thought it would be Sam from 'Shiver' by Maggie Stiefvater. He's just so thoughtful, caring and with a great sense of humour.

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:

I really wasn't sure about having to read 'Furnace: Lockdown' by Alexander Gordon Smith at work, thought it looked horrifying, but it turned out to be the start of one of the best series I have read. Love his work and he's such a cool dude in real life too. So glad I had to read it, I would have missed a real treasure otherwise.

Hidden Gem Book:

Released by Megan Duncan. Such an amazing book and author. I really don't know why she isn't better known, she is a truly fantastic author.

Important Moment in your Reading Life:

All the night my parents read to me as a small child. Discovering the 'Animal Ark' series as a child as I fell in love with them. Discovering Harry Potter and finding my love of reading all over again. Starting work at a library, opened up a much bigger world and options of books. Starting my blog and meeting other bloggers.
So many moments that have made me who i am.

Just Finished:

Incubus by Jennifer Quintenz. was very good, review will be coming soon (hopefully tomorrow)

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:

I will not read Horror, Thrillers or Erotica. I'm not a fan of mass Crime books but enjoy some Detective Stories.

Longest Book You’ve Read:

I think it was one of the books from the 'Sword of Truth' series by Terry Goodkind, each book was somewhere around 1,200 pages and there were 12 books in the series I think. I read all but the last 2, which are still on my list.

Major book hangover because of:

'Now is Good' by Jenny Downham. It's such a powerful book and packed with emotions. I cried for hours with this book and couldn't stop thinking about it. It still resonates in my mind and really struck a chord with me. Just beautifully written.

Number of Bookcases You Own:

Depends how you count. I have 6 in my room that are strictly book cases, then I have one set of shelves that were adapted for the use of books but hold other things as well, then my mum has 3 book cases that I have a shelf on each. which I suppose if you added together would make another 1.
Then I still have a mountain of books that don't fit on any shelves.

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:

Of course has to be Harry Potter series, read each one at least a dozen times. Would also have to count 'Series of Unfortunate Events' by Lemony Snicket

Preferred Place To Read:

I mostly read on the sofa/chair at home in my living room, but really anywhere is fine by me. :D

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:

I love so many book/reading quotes that I could fill a whole post with them,  but this is simple and sums it all up really"

"A room without books is like a body without a soul"
- Marcus Tullius Cicero

Reading Regret:

Not really sure, possibly spending so many years disliking Pride & Prejudice due to bad school experience with it, I finally went back to it this year and really enjoyed it. I'm sorry for all the bad things I ever said about it.

Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series):

My goodness, too many to count, I've started so many then decided to stop and wait until all the parts are out but never went back to.

Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:

Mrs Frisby and the Rats of Nimh by Robert C O'Brien
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K Rowling
Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy

Unapologetic Fangirl For:

Derek Landy. I've met him twice, he is awesome. I have no shame being a crazy fangirl for him!

Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:

Allegiant by Veronica Roth - OMG can't wait!!!

Worst Bookish Habit:

I am really careful with my books, so I'm not sure if I have a bad habit - I suppose it would be buying more books when I haven't read the 200 or so I already own. :O

X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:

Matched by Ally Condie

Your latest book purchase:

The entire Wizard of Oz collection by L. Frank Baum and 'Simon's Cat: Feed Me' by Simon Tofield

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):

Erm, let me think, it might have been Ink by Amanda Sun. Such a cool book. :D
