First Frost Book Description:
Fairytales aren’t real…yeah…that’s exactly what Bianca thought. She was wrong.
For generations, the Frost family has run the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts, handing down guardianship from mother to daughter, always keeping their secrets to “family only.”
Gathered within museum’s walls is a collection dedicated to the Grimm fairy tales and to the rare items the family has acquired: Cinderella’s glass slipper, Snow White’s poisoned apple, the evil queen’s magic mirror, Sleeping Beauty’s enchanted spinning wheel…
Seventeen-year-old Bianca Frost wants none of it, dreaming instead of a career in art or photography or…well, anything except working in the family’s museum. She knows the items in the glass display cases are fakes because, of course, magic doesn’t really exist.
She’s about to find out how wrong she is.

Glass Frost Book Description:
-->
When joined together, Cinderella's slippers grant the wearer her heart's desire. But whose wish will be granted?
When Cinderella’s glass slipper is stolen, Queen Felicia sends her faithful steward Terrance to the real world to retrieve his love and witch-in-training, Bianca Frost. The power of the glass slipper in the wrong hands could ruin peace in Everafter. Bianca must gather every bit of magic she has learned in the past few weeks to find the slipper and protect her new love. Together, Bianca, Ming, Prince Ferdinand, and Terrance venture deep into the heart of Everafter to seek clues as to who has stolen the slipper and why. Along the way, they uncover what happened to the Seven Dwarves after Snow White married the prince, but also learn the awful risk of tampering with black magic and the high price that must be paid for magical aid, even when used for good.
Bianca and Terrance’s relationship is put to the test. Through the pain of suffering and loss, Bianca must determine if following her gallant boyfriend into his faraway world is in fact her heart's desire.

Interview with Liz DeJesus
1. When you
write, do you plan the storyline or just go with the flow and see where it
takes you? Plotter or Panster?
I’m
definitely a pantser. I like to follow my characters and see what they’ll do on
their own. Every once in a while I’ll give them a helpful nudge here and there
if they get stuck somewhere.
2. Where do you do most of your writing? Do you have a special spot?
2. Where do you do most of your writing? Do you have a special spot?
Most of my
writing happens in the living room while my kids are playing. I like the
flexibility of being able to write anywhere at any time. I don’t understand
authors that need to have everything a certain way just so they can write. Life
is unpredictable.
3. Are any of your characters based on people you know?
3. Are any of your characters based on people you know?
Not really.
I mean most of the characters have little bits of me in them. Especially Bianca
Frost, she’s definitely me when I was seventeen. And if I hear something funny
in real life and I think will be useful in one of my books I’ll definitely use
it.
4. Who was your favourite author as a child? Who is it now?
My favorite book was The Curious
Clubhouse by Christine Govan. And my favorite author when I was growing up was
Francine Pascal (she wrote the Sweet Valley High books). Now? Hmmm. There are
just so many amazing authors right now. But at the moment I’m a HUGE fan of
Marissa Meyer, she’s the author of Cinder and Scarlet.
oooh I Love Marissa Meyer! Great choice. :D
5. Did you always want to be an author?
If not what was your ambition?
Yes and no. I knew that being a
published author was going to be difficult so I had a backup plan. I wanted to
be a teacher. But that didn’t happen because my family couldn’t afford to send
me to college. I was able to go to community college for a few years but I was
distracted with my love of writing. I spent most of my time in class not paying
attention. (Not a very good example if there are any young people reading this
LOL) but I decided to drop out of school and pursue my dream. I did have enough
credits that I was able to get jobs working at schools as an ESL tutor. That
was a fun job.
hehe, think that just shows that you were meant to be a writer!
6. A lot of
authors have playlists for their books. Do you like to listen to music whilst
you write and if so can you give us any recommendations?
I always
listen to music while I’m writing. I’m a HUGE fan of Imogen Heap. Her songs
have a dream-like quality to them and it definitely helps me go to a different
place in my mind when I’m writing.
I also
listen to Mumford and Sons, Linkin Park, Taylor Swift, Mozart, Beethoven and
other bands. My musical tastes are all over the map.
Great playlist, Taylor Swift is my music of choice a lot of the time when I write. Just love her music, but overall a great mix!
7. Can you tell us a bit more about your book and how it came about?
First Frost
was initially inspired by a commercial I saw on TV for a local children’s
museum. I started thinking about how children often go through phases. One
moment they’re into trains, the next it’s all about cars, pirates, etc. And I
thought they should have themed museums, like a pirate themed museum or a fairy
tale themed museum. I swear to God, it felt as though I had been struck by
lightning when that idea came to me. I was like, ‘I have to write this down
somewhere!’ LOL After that the book sort of wrote itself.
8. Which is
your favourite fairytale and why?
Definitely
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is my ALL time favorite fairy tales. Closely
followed by Alice in Wonderland.
Why? Hmm. I
guess I love the fact that she suffered through so many trials in life and was
able to overcome them. Even death couldn’t stop Snow White from getting her
happy ending.
Alice in Wonderland is one of my favourites. But can see why you love Snow!
9. If you could have one item from a
famous fairytale which item would you choose and why?
Table-be-set.
It’s an old Brother’s Grimm fairy tale. All you have to do is say “Table be
set.” And you will always have food and wine. I think that’s a pretty awesome
thing to have. You’ll never go hungry. J
Here’s
a link to the story if you wanna read it http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/grimm036.html
That sounds awesome, you'd never have to worry about cooking or food shopping ever again!
10. How many books will there be in the series?
I’m
currently working on the third book in the series so there are definitely going
to be three books in the series. My dream is that this will be an ongoing
series since there are so many fairy tales that I can work with and I’m having
so much fun with these characters. So who knows?
Awesome! Can't wait for the next installment and love the idea that there could be loads more to come.
Thanks for answering my questions Liz!!!
