This week's question feature is MIA

Do you have a favourite place to read?
via Liberamans

My Answer: Not really, anywhere I can curl up with a book is fine. But I tend to do most of my reading on the sofa at home.

This week's question feature is Musings on Fantasia

Create an ad listing all the qualities and qualifications of your perfect co-blogger.
via Girl of 1000 Wonders

My Answer: ooh, that's tricky. I'm a bit picky and quite a perfectionist so I'm not sure I could have a co-blogger, i think we would end up irritating each other and falling out. But here goes anyway:

Wanted
the perfect co-blogger

Must LOVE to read
(mostly YA and fantasy)
must be totally HYPER and CRAZY

May be required to post at all hours, when I remember or whenever I feel like it.
Must be able to cope with my moods and ditzy behaviour.

Must be able to read my mind
or at least my planner
although I forget to put things on my planner - so yeah
read my mind!

Not sure anyone could cope with me, or I with them. LOL

This week's question feature is Boarding with Books

Craziest thing you’d be willing to do for an ARC you are dying to read (aka what would you doooo-ooo for that ARC you want? *think of the Klondike Bar music*)
via A Great Read

My Answer: I don't tend to do anything for ARC's, I know that no amount of begging, pleading, bribery or violence will get me one so I don't really do anything. Publishers have lists of people they use and if you are lucky there will be extras so at most I send an email asking or would consider making a youtube video if they asked for it, but overall I wouldn't do anything extreme. Maybe I have become jaded over my years as a blogger, but sometimes you have to know when you are beaten.

Characters, sometimes our favorites, die during books. If you’d get to choose, who would you bring back? via Howling for Books

My Answer: I would definitely say Ghastly from the Skulduggery Pleasant books, he was such a great character and he had real heart too. I loved his sarcastic humour and bluntness but also his sweet and caring side. I was so sad when he was killed.

Of course there are other obvious answers like Dobby from Harry Potter, and even Sirius - I cried buckets when both of them went. Imagine what Harry's life would have been like if he could have moved in with Sirius - a proper family.  ;'(

Book Merchandise – show off some of your stuff – posters, t-shirts. Whatever you got!
– Suggested by Becky’s Barmy Book Blog (oooh me! :D)

My Answer:

My Shadow Falls t-shirt and bookmarks which I love, also have one for the new spin off series but that is currently in the laundry as I wore it yesterday. My mockingjay Hunger Games t-shirt. A poster for the new Harry Potter cover designs.  my Skulduggery Pleasant wristbands and various bookmarks (a small few from my collection).
Love to see what you've all got.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to be featured.

Book looks - Your favorite fashions from the books you've read
Suggested by Go Book Yourself

My Answer: I'm not really into to fashion, I tend to just stick with what I know, simple jeans and t-shirt. However I love the idea of the special suits made by Ghastly Bespoke in Skulduggery PLeasant, a nice dark navy fitted suit that can protect me from injuries and fits like a glove. Perfect!

Perusing Bookshelves

Book character(s) you’d like to see with their own Twitter page …
via A Great Read

My Answer: To be completely honest I don't really use Twitter much, in fact I am ashamed to admit that it rather confuses me. So I can't say I would read or follow anyone that did have their own page. But it's always good to get another look into a world you love, so really any of the characters I adore would be good. I can imagine Skulduggery Pleasant's twitter feed being quite funny.

A Great Read

Before blogging (dark times people!) how would you find out about new books or did you?Question provided by: The Pegster Reads

My Answer: I would (and still do) go into bookshops and just browse, spending ages just looking round the shelves. I would ask my friends for recommendations. And my school librarian was always happy to share the latest releases and ideas for things I might like.

The YA Buzz

Are you also a writer and what genre or did you ever consider writing?  Question provided by: The Pegster Reads

My Answer: I have done some writing - I have written a YA fantasy novel and 4 Picture books for little kids. I also wrote a Middle Grade fantasy years ago but that needs some updating/editing.

Would love to be a published author, so do write when I have the chance, although haven't done any for a while. Got a bit of writers block. But I am determined and know I can get back into the swing. But YA Fantasy seems to be my genre!

Words I Write Crazy

Tell us about a book character you’d trade places with – Suggested by Escaping Within Pages

Sorry this post is late, but it was my Birthday yesterday so I was out for most of the day. :D

My Answer: ooh, that's a tricky one because so many of the characters and worlds are totally awesome, a lot of them are dangerous and spend their time fighting for their lives, so not sure I would want to be in that situation, but if I had to pick one I think I would have to go for Mary from 'The Secret Garden' as she gets to spend all that time in that lovely garden with lambs and deer and such.

What is your favorite tv series that you can watch over and over again on Netflix?

My Answer: I don't actually use netflix. But I have a lot of TV series on DVD.  My favourites are 'Friends', 'Merlin', 'Gilmore Girls', 'Pretty Little Liars' and 'Fawlty Towers'.  Tends to be a mix of comedy and fantasy.

If you had a time machine (i.e. a TARDIS), where would you go?

My Answer: I would consider going back in time as there are some great events and people I would like to meet but I would be terrified that I would change something, however small and it would cause the butterfly effect and the world as we know it would cease to exist (too dramatic?) It could happen! So I might have to go forward, but then I might be disappointed with what I saw, if life didn't turn out the way I hope it will. So to be honest. I would probably just sell the time machine and make my fortune!!! Let someone else do the travelling. :)

A Writer’s Dark Corner

What are some of your favorite picture books – either current ones or ones from your childhood?

My Answer: I love Picture Books, I get to read a lot of them at work which is great. But trying to remember all the ones I love is hard! Here are a few:

- It's the Bear by Jez Alborough (most of his books are fab)

- The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson (or anything by her)

- The Incredible Worm by Daniel Postage

- Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andrea

- Down by the Cool of the Pool by Tony Mitton

- Can't You Sleep Little Bear by Martin Waddell

- This is the Bear and the Picnic Lunch by Sarah Hayes

- K is for Kissing A Cool Kangaroo by Giles Andrea

I could literally sit here all night listing the picture books I love so I will stop there for now.

Post a photo of your favorite coffee mug (or mugs if you can’t choose just one).

My Answer: I'm going to be really boring here and confess that I don't drink coffee or tea so don't have a mug. I mostly have juice which I drink out of my sports bottle or a glass. Nothing exciting.

I did used to have the odd hot chocolate and used a mug like this, it's probably still around somewhere, maybe the cupboard at work as that is where i mostly have hot choc in the winter.

The Attic Young Adult Book Reviews

What are your favorite books of 2014 so far?

My Answer:

-Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell,

-Banished by Liz De Jager,

-The Secret Diamond Sisters by Michelle Madow

- Resist by Sarah Crossan.

I've only read 47 books so far this year, I'm usually on about 120 by now. Can't believe how far behind I am. Will have to do some marathon reading. :)

Armchair Travel! Tell us about your favorite book in a setting you’d like to visit (a real place for this question).

My Answer: Blimey. I'm drawing a blank here, most of what I read is fantasy or dystopian so not set in real places. I have read some contemporary fiction but can't think of anywhere I would like to go. A few of Sarah Dessen's books are set around a little Seaside town that I think is based on a real place and always sounded quite nice, so maybe there.
