Book Blogger Hop: December 17th-20th

Book Blogger Hop
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Crazy-for-Books and is an awesome way to for book bloggers to interact and find each other. Such a wonderful idea! There's a new question every week that all the participating blogs have to answer.

This week's question comes from Alex who blogs at Geek on the Brink:

"What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?"

My answer: Of course a book has to have a good plot to entice you to read it and keep your attention, but then you have to have good characters to hold that. You have to have realistic characters that the reader can connect with otherwise even the bet plot will flop. The plot sets the stage and scene but the characters are the actors that bring it to life.

The Hop lasts Friday-Monday every week, so if you don't have time to Hop today, go back later and join the fun!  This is a weekly event!  And stop back throughout the weekend to see all the new blogs that are added

If you've stopped by my blog from the hop, welcome, it's great to have you here, please feel free to look around, and follow. I will then visit you in turn. :D

Oh me what a question this week.

I really think the characters are important. It makes me want to read the book if I want to know the characters. But a good plot with twists just makes it move along.

I'm launching a new reading challenge that you might be interested in, Morbid Romantica Challenge 2011.

Thanks for stopping by :)

This might be the best Book Blogger Hop question I've seen to date.

So what's the answer? Plot! Hop over to my blog and let me tell you how a good plot rescued bad characters from bad book oblivion.

I love you meme answer. I haven't read anyone today that hasn't said more or less the same thing. :)

I prefer characters over plot. But both are important. Happy Blog Hop.

Happy HOP! First off I'd say both are important to how I enjoy the story but ultimately it's the characters for me. Hope you're enjoying your weekend :)

Hi Becky :)
Thanks, I had to make the background myself using photoshop.

This hop is making me think so much about character vs. plot. I've never given it thought much. I do think a flop of a plot (hahaha) isn't very good. But if the characters aren't great, I don't mind too much because I read more for plot :D
