My Answer: Wow, what a question. I think I would have to say that it was, that no matter how much you try to help people, not everyone will be happy or satisfied with what you do and that's OK, it's their issue not yours.
I feel like I should explain a bit; I had an author email me asking to review his book, I turned him down explaining that I had a full schedule right now and no time to take on any more books, my TBR pile is basically a mountain right now, but I offered a Promotion Post, which I do quite a few of and normally authors are appreciative and love the free publicity. But not this guy - I got a reply saying that Promo posts were pointless and did nothing to help the book or the author and it was basically a waste of time. And that unless I was happy to review he basically didn't want to know. And then said if I could prove him otherwise he would reconsider!
I was offended at first, that basically belittles a good portion of what we do, but then I realised it was his issue, not mine. If he wanted to believe that, then he would be the one missing out on the free publicity and exposure for his book. I don't think I should have to justify what I do and why. I would still have my blog and other authors who are grateful for what we do. And to those authors I say - thank you for choosing my blog. I appreciate your work and support. I'm happy to help. :D
Happy Hopping & Blogging. :D

I so agree with you - we can't take things personally ... although it' hard not to sometimes.

CONGRATS!!!
Yeah, I do the same thing and authors love that I'm willing to do something for them. Thankfully I haven't experienced a temperamental author yet. You're right, it's his problem not yours! :)
