My Review
I was contacted by the author of this book and asked if I would read it in exchange for an honest review. I read the blurb and an extract on her website and decided it looked good and so accepted.
Sophia Pierce is a Vampire, she never wanted this life but has learnt to deal with the consequences, her adopted family live by rules and refuse to feed off of mortals, they control their cravings and live on donated blood or animal blood. They try to blend into society and come across as a normal loving family. There is now a new member to the family,Danika, she has to be integrated and needs to learn the rules and her control. Sophia and her siblings head back to school to keep an eye on Danika and get her back into society.
Sophia doesn't particularly want to go back to school, she's done it all before and prefers to keep to herself, not get attached to anyone, that is until she meets Nathanial, the school hottie and it's love at first sight. Sophia must learn to open up and accept herself so others can accept her too.
I loved the twist of this story, the vampires weren't all blood-sucking monsters, but rather a special family unit that although different, wanted to be a part of others lives and were kind, caring, loyal and loving. I really felt a warmth and attraction to the family and almost felt like a part of their unit.
Nathanial sounds great, I wish I could find me someone like him, he is so understanding of everything, loving and sounds good looking too. I could just imagine his adoring smile. *heart melts*
The story is really well paced and once I had sat down I found it hard to pull myself away. I was sent the pdf version as I don't have an e-reader so I could only read it in the evenings when I was home with my computer, when I had to log off, I found myself wondering what would happen next and I struggled to read a different book, as I couldn't keep my thoughts off this one. I ended up reading it in three sessions, but it didn't take me long at all. I was captured into the story and felt like I was standing along side the characters.
For a first time novel, I am excited to see what else Charlotte will release. Most of all I am looking forward to book two in this series, as this book doesn't come to a complete conclusion, it's left me on tenterhooks and I want to know what will happen.
Definitely one to look out for.

That's super cool that you read a new work and loved it! I can't say I've read many Vampire books but I started "The Strain" by Guillame del Toro not too long ago and it's already pretty thrilling.
I actually am hopping by to thank you for completing my mini-challenge with an exclusive-no passing around or making a post about it-award that you can just throw in your pile of awards if you want!! Here's the link for you to grab it: Award.
Hope to see you back around soon!
