Top 12 of 2012: 12 Michelle Madow

Welcome to day 12 of my Top 12

Anyone who knows anything about me will know I am a HUGE Taylor Swift fan. she is the only person I have ever seen in concert and I've seen her twice. Her music fills my ipod and she's jsut awesome.

Therefore when I heard about this author and her first book I was so excited. Michelle Madow is just a big a fan as me but she did something truly awesome with it. She wrote 'Remembrance' which is based on Taylor Swift's first big hit 'Love Story'. But Michelle made it so much more, the world, the characters and the story became her own.

I first read that book in October of 2011. Then in October 2012 I read book 2 - Vengeance. This was only a small novella that links book 1 and 3 together but I enjoyed it none-the-less and got even more excited for Book 3. I was part of the 'Timeless' launch tour and had an ARC copy of it to read. It was an excelent end to the trilogy, everything came together perfectly and the series just blew me away.

You can really see how much Michelle has grown as an author and allowed her characters to take you on a journey with them. The stories are beautifully written and keep you totally hooked.

Shall we just take a minute to look at how gorgeous those covers are. So pretty. I want a mask like that. In fact I would quite like to go to a masked ball based on that whole Regency era, it sounds so pretty in these books, although I wouldn't want to live in it permanently

Remebrance:
Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England ... but she doesn't know it yet.

Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie's high school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can't stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can't she get him out of her mind?

Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, fighting fate isn't going to be easy.

Vengeance:
How far would you go to get revenge?

When Chelsea Givens discovered that her ex-boyfriend Drew dumped her to be with her former best friend Lizzie, she'd never felt so betrayed in her life. Then her new friend Shannon tells her she can help set things right. Chelsea's willing to listen, but what Shannon wants her to believe -- that she shared a past life with Drew -- is impossible. And what she wants her to do to get him back … well, it's downright crazy.

Could Shannon be telling the truth? And if she is, what lengths will Chelsea go if it means making Lizzie pay?

Timeless:
IT'S A RACE AGAINST TIME.

Strange things keep happening to Lizzie. Things that are omens of darkness to come. A curse has doomed her to die an early death, just as she did in her past life. To make things worse, even if she can figure out who cast the curse, it's irreversible. There's only one option left for her to save herself. It's crazier than anything she's heard yet, and to do it, she'll need Drew and Chelsea's help.

Because to make things right, they must go back to when it all began...

This series is one that took my breath away and left me wanting more. The characters became like my friends and I know I will share their adventures with them again and again.

And this isn't it from Michelle, she's just sold a new series to a publisher, so I will be looking forward to updates about that. :D

I have an exclusive interview with Michelle too:

1) Do you plan your stories/series out before writing or even during, or do you write as it comes?

I always plan my books out before I write them. If I write without an outline, it feels like I'm floundering! I usually stick to my outline, but if a great idea for a different scene pops into my mind while writing, I still include it.

2) Do your characters ever take over and tell you what they want to happen or do you have them firmly reined in?

Since I outline ahead of time, everything is planned already. So I suppose I have them "reined in," although sometimes they say things I didn't plan! (For instance, in the music room scene in Remembrance, Drew was a lot meaner to Lizzie than I realized he was going to be ...)

3) If you could meet one other author (dead or alive) who would you pick and why?

Jane Austen! I would love to talk with her about her character development process, since she has such incredible characters in her stories. Also, it would be beyond cool to meet Jane Austen.

Thanks so much for having me on your blog! :)

Thanks again for having the Transcend Time Saga as your Top 12! <3 div="div">

Wow...I am in no way a Taylor Swift fan but the books kind of intrigue me written based on that very popular song. I have seen them many times and just never picked them up to see what they are about but your writing makes me rethink reading them. Thanks..I think I will be adding them to my TBR

I'm not a huge of Taylor Swift, but the fact that the covers are so awesome makes me think I should at least try to read these and 'Love Story' is a decent song and the story of the song...so I might try these books :D
